Italian
Medal for the Persian Gulf War
1990-1991
This is the Italian medal for participation in the Persian Gulf
War of 1990-1991. The medal is shaped in a cross and is encircled by a
wreath to give it an overall circular appearance. There is a central
medalion
which displays a single star on the overse, and the words,"GOLFO
PERSICO"
(Persian Gulf) on the reverse. The medal measures 41mm in diameter and
the ribbon is 38mm in width. The ribbon is yellow with three 4mm
stripes
(red, white, and green.)
This example is in mint condition as issued. It
was manufactured by
Spink & Son Ltd of London.
