Manhood and Loyalty Medal
(Medalia Barbatie si Credinta)

The Manhood and Faithfulness Medal was awarded to noncommissioned Officers and enlisted men for service to the Crown of Romania as well as for lesser acts of Bravery.

It was awarded in 3 classes, with and without swords.

1st class In Gold (gilt)
2nd class Silver
3rd class In Bronze

This example is in the 2nd Class with swords denoting military service. It has the original ribbon, which is in excellent condition. At the top of reverse of the ribbon, there is glue residue where it appears this medal was hung or attached, possibly in a display, or on a medal bar.

The obverse reads: CAROL I REGE AL ROMANIEI 
Translation: Carol I King of Romania

Reverse: 
BARBATIE SI CREDINTA 
Literal Translation: Manhood and Faith 
Meaning: Manhood- courage and Bravery Faith- as in faith (belief) in God
